Gary Chapman is very Christian based and this book is amazing IF you have a spouse that is willing to read the book and work on your marriage. There are a lot of great points in the book IF your spouse is not willing to work on the marriage that will reassure you that certain behavior and treatment is just not acceptable nor biblical. If you are reading this review, you are likely in tough times. God bless you on your journey.

I think it really was the last try!

I bought this book as a resource (among many others) to try to figure out how to save my troubled marriage. We were separated, and seriously on the rocks. I thought the book was inspiring and good. So I bought another copy and gave it to my wife, and it really struck a chord with her, even more than it had with me. I think it caused a turning point in the relationship, and although it's too soon to tell, it seems we're headed in the right direction now.

Directed at wives only....

I purchased this book with high expectations that were unmet. The appropriate title should read "Its the wife's job to fix any and all problems". I do not recommend this book if you truly wish to give it one more try.
